Features FAQ

Q: How do I get my album featured in CD Club?
A: Fill out the form above and I will get in touch if the many moving parts of your project and my project align. It would be ideal if you were a member of CD Club, too.

Q: What kind of music is featured in CD Club?
A: The music is curated by me, which basically means, I need to like it. Generally the albums featured will fall somewhere in the folk or country / Canadiana / Americana genre spectrum, but I like a LOT of other stuff too. JAZZ? POP? SOUL? Who knows what will come up. Mostly though, as membership grows, I will continue to gather feedback from the club members and try to tailor it to what works for the group as a whole. That being said, I may occasionally throw in something a little unexpected that I believe in, and believe that the club members should hear.

Q: Why do I HAVE to join CD Club to get featured?
A: You don't, but I would like you to be. One of the many reasons I wanted to start this club was to remind those of us in the folk music community that the most tangible way to support each other is to buy each others' stuff. That's why I'm buying your stuff and sending it to as many people as I can. That's why you should buy my stuff, too. The month that you are featured will be a freebie month - as in, you don't have to pay to get your own album mailed to you. If there happens to be an overlap, we'll extend your membership by a month.

Q: What do I get out of this?
A: First, I will purchase x number (x being the number of members I have, we'll talk about that when we get going) of CDs from you, and then I will send them directly to a group of dedicated, engaged music fans. Right to their door. My hope is that CD Club will help you cover the cost of manufacturing your first run of the album, or go towards hiring a publicist, or renting a car for tour, or whatever! No final reports needed here, folks. (Though in a survey some day I may ask you to give me an idea of how CD Club helped you, if it does at all!)
